NearGolf score rates overall quality (0–10). USGA rating & slope measure difficulty — how hard the course plays, not how good it is.
What golfers say
The layout offers some unique and challenging holes that golfers find fun, and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, the greens are often in rough shape with bare spots and crabgrass, and the sand traps are usually lacking sand.

How we score
The NearGolf quality score (0–10) is a weighted blend of reviews, difficulty, price and course pedigree — the same score shown in the app. We label courses we do not have enough signal on as "Not yet rated" rather than guessing.
What the score reflects here: Poorly maintained greens, rough fairways, and goose dropping
Honest data on 11,977 U.S. courses across 51 states — booking info verified, quality scored only where we have real signal.
