Terms of Use

Last updated: July 13, 2026

By using NearGolf ("NearGolf", "the app", "the service"), you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose.

What the app is

NearGolf is a golf course discovery tool that maps publicly-known U.S. golf courses, ranks them by your preferences (distance, quality, handicap fit, cost), lets you save and log courses you've played, and hands you off to each course's own reservation system to book a tee time.

We are not a booking platform. We do not handle reservations, payments, or refunds. When you book, you do so directly with the course (or the booking engine the course uses).

NearGolf is an informational service. Course facts, ratings, rankings, and editorial verdicts are provided for your convenience to help you decide where to play. They are NearGolf's own editorial opinion and a compilation of publicly available data and user reports — not a guarantee, endorsement, professional advice, or a statement of fact about any course. Use your own judgment and always confirm details directly with the course.

Course data

Course locations and metadata come from OpenStreetMap (OSM), the USGA Course Rating Database, Google Places, and crowdsourced reports from app users. We do our best to keep the data accurate but we cannot guarantee it. If a course has closed, changed access policy, or is misclassified, please use the "Report or rate this course" sheet in the app to fix it.

Specifically: a course showing as "Public" in the app may in fact be private, members-only, or closed. Always call the course or check their website before driving there.

Tee times, availability & prices

When NearGolf shows tee-time availability or a green fee, it is a best-effort snapshot gathered from public sources and the course's own booking engine, and it can be stale, incomplete, or wrong. We do not guarantee that any tee time is actually available, or that the price shown is the price you will pay. Availability, times, and pricing are controlled entirely by the course and its booking engine — they can change or sell out at any moment. Always confirm the real time and price on the course's booking site before you rely on it.

Our ranking & rating commitment

NearGolf's rankings and scores are our honest editorial opinion. Placement in NearGolf is never for sale. A course cannot pay us to rank higher, to be featured, or to change its score, and we do not accept sponsored placements. This is a trust commitment we make to golfers — but it does not make any rating a guarantee of quality, condition, or fit, and you should still form your own opinion.

User-submitted reports & ratings

By submitting a verdict, par/holes correction, or rating via the Report sheet, you agree that:

We never associate submissions with you personally.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We reserve the right to block requests from any source we believe is abusing the service.

Booking with the course

When you tap "Book a tee time," we open the course's own booking site (foreUP, Chronogolf, TeeItUp, GolfNow, or the course's website) in your browser. We don't process payments, hold inventory, or guarantee tee times. Once you leave the app, that site's terms apply. NearGolf is not a party to your booking — the contract is between you and the course (or its booking engine), and we accept no liability for the course, the booking engine, your reservation, any payment, refund, cancellation, or dispute.

Disclaimer of warranty

The app is provided "as-is." We make no warranty that it will be error-free, that course data will be accurate, or that the app will work on every device.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to: driving to a course that's closed, being denied entry at a private club, paying a different green fee than expected, or any consequence of relying on app data.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app on next open and noted at the top of this page.
